It’s only the first day of 2021, but Najee Harris may have already made the play of the year.
In the first quarter of the College Football Playoff semifinal between No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Notre Dame, the Crimson Tide running back took a hand off from quarterback Mac Jones, bounced off a pack of players at the line of scrimmage, bolted towards the sideline and then HURDLED the poor Fighting Irish defender attempting to stop him before eventually being pushed out of bounds inside Notre Dame’s 20-yard line.
It’s a play that’s infinitely better to watch then to read about, so check it out below.
What makes this play even more wild is that American soccer star Megan Rapinoe tweeted on Dec. 30 that Harris should hurdle someone in the Rose Bowl… and then he did! Thank you, Megan.
Najeeeee Roll Tide!!!!! ( did I do it right? ) Be Great, get those ‘s and hurdle someone for me! @ohthatsNajee22 https://t.co/4YcDPCGShD

As the play warranted, Twitter went a little nuts over the super-human jump.
Here are some of the best reactions:

Alabama RB Najee Harris’ leap over the Notre Dame defender was the best play I’ve ever seen because that’s the first time I’ve seen a player jump over a defender standing straight up!!!
