TORONTO — Eight members of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have been fined an undisclosed amount by the CFL for an excessive touchdown celebration in Sunday’s 39-17 trouncing of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Winnipeg quarterback Michael Bishop was intercepted by Ticats linebacker Markeith Knowlton, who ran 35 yards for the TD at 8:28 of the fourth quarter to make the score 29-16.

After the touchdown, Knowlton, Tyler Smith, Geoff Tisdale, Chris Thompson, Jamall Johnson, Jykine Bradley and Otis Floyd piled into a boat near the end zone. One player pretended he was fishing, while another mimicked being in a pedal boat.

The loss eliminated Winnipeg from playoff contention.

Hamilton plays host to the B.C. Lions in the East semifinal Sunday afternoon.
