HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed international offensive lineman Ryker Mathews on Sunday.

Mathews, 26, started 17 regular-season games and two playoff games for the Tiger-Cats at right tackle in 2018. The Utah native originally signed with Hamilton July 25, 2017 and has played 26 regular-season games over two seasons (2017-18) with the club.

The Brigham Young University product spent time with the NFL’s New England Patriots from January to May earlier this year. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints and attended training camp with the team in 2016.

The Tiger-Cats also announced they had released running back Martez Carter.
