Lions sign first-round pick TE Eric Ebron

ALLEN PARK, Mich. — The Detroit Lions signed first-round pick Eric Ebron to a four year contract Friday.

The North Carolina tight end was selected No. 10 overall.

Detroit drafted the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Ebron to give Matthew Stafford another option in a potentially potent offence. The Lions also have receivers Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, tight ends Brandon Pettigrew and Joseph Fauria along with running backs Reggie Bush and Joique Bell and a solid offensive line.

The Lions wrapped up mandatory minicamp on Thursday and will return for training camp in late July.
