Quarterbacks dominate the top of the Super Bowl MVP odds for this weekend’s big game, with New England Patriots pivot Tom Brady leading the way as a +125 favourite on those Super Bowl prop bets at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Brady has been instrumental in New England’s march to a third straight Super Bowl appearance. The future Hall of Fame quarterback has averaged 345.5 pass yards per game while leading the team to two impressive playoff victories, and will be looking to claim a fifth career Super Bowl MVP award in Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Brady’s Super Bowl credentials are legendary. The 41-year-old has appeared in a record eight Super Bowl games, powering the Patriots to five victories. In addition, Brady has thrown for nine touchdown passes over his past three Super Bowl appearances, and threw for a record 505 yards in a 41-33 loss to Philadelphia a year ago at Super Bowl LII.

Conversely, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff prepares to make his first career Super Bowl appearance closely trailing Brady as a +250 wager on the MVP odds with his team the underdog on the Super Bowl odds.

Goff has fulfilled the promise since being selected first overall by the Rams in the 2016 NFL Draft. The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough this season, setting career highs with 4,688 passing yards and 32 scoring passes.

In addition, Goff has proven to be equally adept at navigating a Rams offence that has leaned heavily on a strong rushing game, led by running back Todd Gurley, who sits third on the Super Bowl MVP odds at +1000.

The NFL’s two-time defending rushing touchdowns leader, Gurley scampered for 17 scores this season to go along with four touchdown receptions. The 24-year-old, who played his college football at Georgia, reached the end zone in each of the Rams’ two playoff victories, and topped 100 rushing yards on seven occasions this season.

However, Gurley failed to score while rushing for just 38 yards in his only previous game against New England, back in December 2016.

Further down the Super Bowl MVP odds, Patriots rusher Sony Michel sits at +1200, followed by Rams running back CJ Anderson at +1600, and Los Angeles defensive end Aaron Donald, who is pegged as a +1800 wager to be the third defensive player to claim Super Bowl MVP honours in the past six years.

Michel has made steady progress since being taken 31st overall by New England at the 2018 NFL Draft following four seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs. After running for six total scores during the regular season, Michel has blossomed with 242 rushing scores and five touchdowns in this year’s playoffs.
