Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles has agreed to a revised contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The deal reportedly includes a mutual option for 2019, as well as a $2-million signing bonus and incentives. The new contract rewards Foles for leading Philadelphia to its first-ever Super Bowl and ensures stability at the position as Carson Wentz continues to recover from a knee injury.
Foles led the Eagles to the NFL championship this past February after taking over for the injured Wentz near the end of the regular season. The 29-year-old pivot threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns in Super Bowl LII, capping an incredible post-season run for a quarterback no one thought could pull it off.
Drafted 88th overall by the Eagles in 2012, Foles played in Philadelphia for three seasons before being dealt to the St. Louis Rams ahead of the 2015 season. Foles considered retirement after that failed stint with the Rams, before backing up Alex Smith in Kansas City in 2016 and then re-signing with the Eagles last off-season.
