The NFL is planning on suspending Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston for the first three games of the coming season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting.
According to the ESPN reporter, the suspension will be because of a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy and stems from an incident from 2016 that alleges that Winston groped a female Uber driver.
Winston was taken with the first-overall pick in 2015 by the Bucs after a succesful collegiate career at Florida State University that included a 2013 Heisman Trophy.
In three seasons with Tampa Bay, Winston has a completion percentage of 60.8 and has eclipsed 4,000 passing yards every season except 2017, when he missed three games with a shoulder injury.
