HOUSTON — The Houston Texans have hired Larry Izzo as special teams co-ordinator, Sean Ryan to coach wide receivers and Anthony Weaver as defensive line coach.

Izzo replaces Bob Ligashesky, who was let go earlier this month, and Ryan takes over for Stan Hixon, who was also fired after the season. Weaver takes the place of Paul Pasqualoni, who resigned this week.

Izzo, who played 14 seasons in the NFL, spent the last five years as the assistant special teams coach of the New York Giants.

Ryan also comes from the Giants, where he spent the last two of his nine seasons there as wide receivers coach.

Weaver comes to Houston after spending two seasons as Cleveland’s defensive line coach. He played seven NFL seasons, including his last three with the Texans.
