Almost every Super Bowl is defined by one play. The David Tyree helmet catch, Santonio Holmes in the corner of the endzone and Kevin Dyson against the St. Louis Rams are all synonymous with their respective games.
Super Bowl XLIX was no different. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson attempted a pass to Ricardo Lockette, on 2nd & goal on the 1-yard line, which was picked off by Malcolm Butler. It was a questionable decision since the Seahawks have a power running-back in Marshawn Lynch.
Twitter was up in arms about the Seahawks’ play-call, which was criticized by media, other athletes and former NFL players.
