Red Bull appears to be making a change ahead of the third race of the season.
Yuki Tsunoda will take Liam Lawson's seat for the Japanese Grand Prix on April 4-6, ESPN reported Tuesday.
The decision comes after Lawson has struggled mightily to begin the season, finishing outside of the points in both races and the sprint in China.
Lawson was only two races into his Reb Bull career after replacing Sergio Perez. Tsunoda now represents reigning world champion Max Verstappen's third teammate in the last four races.
The 24-year-old Tsunoda has been quick for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB), starting within the top 10 on the grid for the two races and sprint, and totalling three points.
The Japanese driver now makes his long-awaited Red Bull debut in his home race. Meanwhile, Lawson will take over Tsunoda's seat at VCARB, the company's junior team.
