Canada’s Stephen Ames is tied for the lead with two big names entering the third and final round of the season-opening PGA Tour Champions event.

Ames, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh are all 12 under through two rounds of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai in Hawaii.
Ames shot a second straight 6-under 66 on Friday, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 fourth.
Els is a two-time winner of both the British Open and U.S. Open, while Singh has won the Masters once and the PGA Championship twice.
Ames has four PGA Tour victories and two PGA Tour Champions (for players 50 and over) wins on his resume.
Mike Weir of Brights Grove, Ont., sits at 3 under.
