From Super Bowl champs to The Match champs, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs dominated Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson from the Golden State Warriors in the latest star-studded golf charity event.
The quarterback and tight end tandem earned a decisive 3-and-2 victory over the NBA's Splash Bros. Thursday at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas.
It was Kelce who secured the victory with a short putt on the 10th hole of the 12-hole match play exhibition.
Although it was a commanding victory for Mahomes and Kelce, the pair had a bit of an assist on one particular drive.
Curry and Thompson weren't alone as Draymond Green tagged along with his Warriors teammates (or at least teammates for a few more days until free agency begins).
Green added some colourful trash-talking, of course, but needed an etiquette lesson from Curry when his shadow was in Thompson's line of sight.
It was the eighth edition of The Match made-for-TV extravaganza. Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods squared off in the inaugural edition in 2018 while Mahomes and Curry both have competed in the event on dream team pairings in the past.
Mahomes and Josh Allen lost to Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in an all-NFL quarterback battle last year while Curry and Peyton Manning fell to Mickelson and Barkley in 2020.
