The Grand Slam of Curling staged a first-of-its-kind online draft Tuesday as the top four teams picked their opponents for their pools in the upcoming WFG Masters.
The top four in the men’s and women’s divisions picked their pool opponents in a snake order selection process from the list of invited teams.
Each team will play four round-robin games: three against the teams within their pool plus one crossover game based on draft order. The No. 1-ranked teams also selected their crossover pool.
The WFG Masters is the fourth Grand Slam of Curling event of the season and runs Jan. 14-19, 2025, at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, Ont.
The Grand Slam of Curling will also test out a new rule during the tournament where if a team blanks two consecutive ends, they will lose the hammer.
