Such is the approach of Detroit Red Wings alumnus Jason Woolley, who has been documenting his experience in the Wings’ outdoor alumni game Tuesday at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers.
The 44-year-old retired defenceman was born in Toronto, but has deep roots in Michigan. Woolley played three seasons with the Spartans, where he was better than a point-per-game blueliner while attending Michigan State. His 24-year NHL career saw him play with five teams, the last being the Wings.
The defenceman-turned-agent is not only mic’d up for television, he’s also providing his Twitter followers with live updates from inside the Red Wings alumni dressing room as they face-off in the first of two alumni games against the Maple Leafs as part of the Winter Classic festivities:
