Boston University upset top-seed Boston College to win the Beanpot Monday night.
The Terriers defeated the Eagles 4-1 in the final to win the Boston-area tournament, which also featured Northeastern and Harvard.
BC opened the scoring when Rangers prospect Gabe Perreault scored six minutes into the game but BU responded with four-straight goals — two in the second and two more in the third — to win its first Beanpot since 2022.
The Terriers got goals from Sharks prospect Brandon Svoboda, Capitals prospect Cole Hutson and Islanders prospect Cole Eiserman. Sabres prospect Gavin Mccarthy iced the win with an empty-net goal.
Hutson was named tournament MVP after scoring three goals and two assists in two games. Mikhail Yegorov made 43 saves to get the win for BU while Jacob Fowler made 40 saves in the loss for BC.
The Terriers, No. 9 in the nation, routed Harvard 7-1 in the first semifinal while the Eagles beat Northeastern 8-2 in the other semifinal.
