Bruins rule out Danton Heinen for Game 6, Jeremy Swayman starts

Boston Bruins forward Danton Heinen has been ruled out for Game 6 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Heinen is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Jim Montgomery on Thursday, as the forward is dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Heinen missed practice ahead of Game 5 but ended up playing in the game. The 28-year-old has an assist through five games in the series.

Montgomery also noted that the team will be making changes to the Game 6 lineup after his team was unable to pick up the victory in Game 5.

On the blue line, Kevin Shattenkirk is slated to return to the lineup with Matt Grzelcyk being scratched. Shattenkirk was taken out of the lineup for Game 5 after playing in the first four games of the series.

John Beecher will also return to the lineup after being scratched for Justin Brazeau. Beecher has only one goal in four games during the series.

One change that won't be made is in net with Jeremy Swayman set to make his fourth-straight start of the series. Swayman is 3-0-1 with a 1.49 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage in the first-round against Toronto.

The Maple Leafs look to force a Game 7 against their long-time playoff rivals. Watch all the action on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
