Hockey Canada has promoted Gina Kingsbury to vice-president of hockey operations and named Marin Hickox as the first vice-president of women’s and girls’ hockey, the organization confirmed on Wednesday.

Kingsbury, 41, a former women’s national team player and manager, joins the leadership group for the men’s, women’s and para national teams.

Hickox joined Hockey Canada in May 2022 to lead recruitment for the women’s and girls’ hockey programs. The new position will focus on initiatives at the grassroots level.

Hickox is a former Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and NHL marketing executive.
