Team Canada captain Barrett Hayton left the world juniors semifinal game against Finland and did not return after hitting his left arm in the boards.

Canada already led by 5-0 in the third period when Hayton skated after a loose puck in the offensive zone before being shoved into the boards by Lassi Thomson. The Canadian seemed to injure his left arm on the hit.

Ahead of the semifinal, Hayton had five goals and nine points in the tournament. He was the fifth-overall pick with the Arizona Coyotes in 2018. He was named one of Team Canada’s top three players in the tournament, but wasn’t on the ice after the game to accept the award.
