BARRIE, Ont. – Jared McCann’s power-play goal at 12:35 of the third period stood up as the winner as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds edged the Barrie Colts 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action on Thursday.
Medric Mercier, Darnell Nurse, and Michael Bunting also scored for the Greyhounds (33-9-2), while Anthony DeAngelo and Justin Bailey tacked on two assists apiece.
Ben Harpur had a short-handed goal for the Colts (26-15-2), Andrew Mangiapane added a power-play goal and Joseph Blandisi rounded out the Barrie offence.
Sault Ste. Marie goaltender Brandon Halverson stopped 30 shots in the victory. Daniel Gibl made 28 saves for the Colts.
Both teams were 1 for 4 on the power play.

SPIRIT 3, BATTALION 0
NORTH BAY, Ont. — Evan Cormier made 46 saves as Saginaw blanked the Battalion.
Dylan Sadowy had two goals — one on the power play and the other shorthanded — and Connor Brown added an empty-net goal to round out the Spirit (20-22-2) offence.
Jake Smith stopped 15-of-17 shots for North Bay (21-11-9).

GENERALS 5, PETES 2
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Tobias Lindberg scored two goals and assisted on another to power Oshawa past the Petes.
Michael Dal Colle also struck twice for the Generals (34-7-2), who have won three straight, while Kenny Huether had the other Oshawa goal.
Dominik Masin had a goal and an assist for Peterborough (15-22-5) and Eric Cornel also scored.
