IceDogs’ Tucker Tynan released from hospital after serious cut to leg

Niagara IceDogs goalie Tucker Tynan has been released from hospital five days after suffering a serious cut to his leg in a game against the London Knights.

Tynan, 17, is now heading home to Chicago for more rest and recovery, according to the IceDogs.

Tynan was cut by the skate of a Knights player after a collision mid-way through last Thursday night’s game. Tynan was rushed to hospital and had emergency surgery that same night.

“There was a point in time last night that there was an option that he may have died on the ice due to loss of blood,” IceDogs GM Joey Burke said on Friday.
