ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — The London Knights are the Ontario Hockey League champions.
Tyler Parsons stopped all 18 shots he faced as London completed a four-game sweep of the Niagara IceDogs with a 1-0 win on Wednesday night.
Christian Dvorak was the lone scorer as the Knights won for the 13th straight game.
London has not lost since April 1, a 4-3 overtime defeat to the Owen Sound Attack in the first round of the OHL playoffs.
Since then the Knights closed out that series and swept both the Kitchener Rangers and Erie Otters before dispatching Niagara.
London advances to the Memorial Cup in Red Deer, Alta., where it will face the Western Hockey League and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champions as well as the host Rebels.
The national major junior championship tournament begins on May 20 when the Knights will play the Red Deer Rebels.
Alex Nedeljkovic made 28 saves for the IceDogs.
Dvorak’s goal came at the 16:37 mark of the first period with assists to Mitch Marner and Jacob Graves.
The Knights have now won four J. Ross Robertson Cups, including three in the past five seasons.
