Have you ever seen the haka in person?

The traditional ancestral war dance, created by the Maori people of New Zealand, has become a popular ritual amongst Kiwi sports teams.

The war cry, most famously used by the All Blacks rugby team, is a group dance that features a lot of stomping and yelling and is definitely used to intimidate an opponent prior to battle.

New Zealand’s under-20 hockey squad decided to perform the haka for South Africa prior to a Div.3 contest last week in Dunedin:

The haka proved successful for New Zealand as they skated to a 5-1 victory over their opponents.
