OHL suspends Colts’ O’Connor 10 games for hit

TORONTO — The Ontario Hockey League suspended Ryan O’Connor of the Barrie Colts for 10 games Wednesday for hitting an opponent in the head.

O’Connor received the ban after hitting Spencer Watson of the Kingston Frontenacs during a playoff game Saturday.

Watson was injured on the play while O’Connor received a checking-to-the-head major and a game misconduct.

Barrie leads Kingston 3-0 in the best-of-seven opening-round series and can register a sweep with a road win Wednesday night.
