Sens prospect invents peanut butter jar

Ottawa Senators prospect Darren Kramer might have discovered the perfect solution for lovers of peanut butter and haters of messy knuckles.

The 20-year-old centre from Peace River, Alberta, has 22 goals for the Western Hockey League’s Spokane Chiefs this season, but his biggest score could be his new invention.

His explanatory YouTube clip pretty much sums up his creation:

The player’s patent-pending peanut butter or mayonnaise jar design twists off in the middle when the consumer is halfway through the contents, creating a smaller jar that lessens mess and saves space.

According to an interview with the Toronto Star, Kramer was inspired to create the jar when learned that a Junior A teammate’s father had made money from an invention.

“I was thinking of everyday nuisances and it was pretty quick. It was something I didn’t have to think too long about,” he told the newspaper. “I’m a peanut butter lover and I always struggled with getting peanut butter on my hands.”

Kramer has already created a few jars in varying sizes and is trying to gather support from famous hockey players.
