Quebec Major Junior Hockey League coach Eric Veilleux blew his lid Friday night and has been slapped with a $1,000 fine and a two-game suspension as a result.
During the second period of Baie-Comeau Drakkar’s 4-3 victory of the Rimouski, the home team’s coach disagreed with the referee’s call.
After failing to get a satisfying explanation from the official, Veilleux embarked on a coaching tantrum for the ages, snatching the sticks right out of the hands of six of his players sitting still on the bench and launching them harpoon-style onto the ice.
