Maple Leafs fans tie knot at first ACC wedding

Two Toronto Maple Leafs die-hard fans married at the ACC in what was a dream come true, even with Carlton the Bear in attendance.

There was something more significant to celebrate Thursday at Air Canada Centre than Tyler Bozak’s 29th birthday.

The home rink of the Toronto Maple Leafs hosted its first wedding Thursday afternoon when two superfans of the hockey team, Jennifer Rogers and Scott Protomanni, said their vows at centre ice. (Insert “cold feet” joke here.)

Hundreds of Leafs Nation lovebirds entered photos and videos in an attempt to win a.) use of centre ice for their wedding ceremony; b.) access for 57 people to a gondola suite to take in Thursday’s Leafs-Sharks game, including decorations, cake and snacks; and c.) a set of Michael Hill wedding bands.

Jennifer and Scott showed their devotion to each other and the eliminated Leafs through this slice of YouTube magic:

“Our passion for the Leafs is very similar to our passion for each other. We get hot-headed with our boys and we get hot-headed with each other sometimes,” Jennifer told the Toronto Star before the wedding. “Then we win and everybody’s OK.”

Uh, let’s hope they’re OK regardless. Congratulations, kids.
