Jiri Sekac has a new home.
The 23-year-old forward was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Sekac was waived Friday by the Chicago Blackhawks after appearing in just six games with the team. He was acquired by Chicago in late January in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Ryan Garbutt.
According to generalfanager.com, Sekac’s contract carries a salary cap hit of $925,000 and will be a restricted free agent after the season.
The Czech forward has 10 goals and 17 assists in 97 career games with the Blackhawks, Ducks, and Montreal Canadiens.
