The Colorado Avalanche signed goalie Calvin Pickard to a one-year contract Thursday.
Pickard’s new agreement is a two-way deal worth $850,500 at the NHL level. His AHL salary is $67,500, according to General Fanager.
In 16 appearances with the Avalanche last season he went 6-7-3 and put up a respectable .932 save percentage and 2.35 goals-against average. The 23-year-old spent most of the season in the American Hockey League with the Lake Erie Monsters where he went 23-17-9 with a .917 save percentage and a 2.61 GAA.
With Semyon Varlamov locked in as the starter and Reto Berra on a one-way deal with Colorado, Pickard could start the 2015-16 campaign in the AHL.
