Avalanche sign defenceman Jesse Graham to one-year deal

Defenceman Jesse Graham has signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche.

Graham has yet to make his NHL debut, after getting drafted by the New York Islanders in the sixth round (155th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

Last season, the Oshawa, Ont., native spent time between two of the Islanders’ affiliate teams. In 19 games with the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Graham posted seven goals and two assists. While with the ECHL’s Missouri Mavericks for 24 games, he put up six goals and 19 assists.

Graham was also named to the OHL All-Rookie Team for the 2010-11 season.
