Avalanche sign defenceman Mason Geertsen to one-year contract

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed defenceman Mason Geertsen to a one-year contract.

Geertsen, 23, was originally a fourth-round pick by the Avalanche in 2013. He has appeared in 159 AHL games with the San Antonio Rampage, where he has three goals and 21 points.
