The Colorado Avalanche have signed defender Conor Timmins to a three-year, entry-level deal, the club announced Friday.
Timmins joined the Avalanche as second-round draft pick (32nd overall) in the 2017 NHL Draft. He’s amassed 35 points through 30 games this season, playing his third year for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
“Conor had a great training camp with us and we are excited with the growth he’s shown this season,” Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic, per the club’s release. “He’s had another strong year in the OHL and played important minutes for Canada’s gold medal team at the world juniors. We are proud to have him with our organization.”
The 19-year-old posted 61 points from the Greyhounds’ back end last season, finishing tied for the fourth-most points among all OHL defencemen.
