The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Shane Bowers to an entry-level contract beginning at the start of next season.

Bowers is the sixth player from Boston University to leave the Terriers this week, finishing his sophomore season with 11 goals and 10 assists in 37 games.

A first-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2017, Bowers was acquired in the blockbuster deal that sent Matt Duchene to Ottawa in November 2017.

The six-foot-two, 186-pound forward had two assists in five games for Canada earlier this year at the world junior hockey championship.

He will report to the Avalanche’s AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles, on an amateur tryout.
