It doesn’t matter if you can skate like Nathan MacKinnon, dangle like Pavel Datsyuk and shoot like Shea Weber, if you don’t have great hair you’ll be an outcast among hockey players in Minnesota.
The state’s annual high school hockey championship tournament took place over the weekend and while the action on the ice was entertaining, the action under the helmets stole the show.
On Sunday, Warrior Hockey posted a video showcasing the best hairstyles from the high school hockey season in Minnesota. There was a hornet’s nest, a couple samurais, a New Kids On The Block throwback and copious rugged, old-school mullets. This all-hair squad even got shout-outs from American Olympic teammates T.J. Oshie and Blake Wheeler.
While the flow is majestic, the commentary is some of the best sports commentary since Best in Show or Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. There’s even a slow-mo-flow montage set to “Let Your Love Flow” from the Bellamy Brothers.
The video has become an annual tradition and as of Monday morning the video already had nearly 900,000 views. Here it is in all its glory.
