The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with defenceman Erik Gustafsson, the team announced on Tuesday.
The native of Nynashamn, Sweden native has five points in 19 games with the Blackhawks this season since being called up from the AHL on Jan. 9. In 25 games with the Rockford IceHogs, Gustafsson racked up 17 points and was selected to the 2018 AHL all-star game.
Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round (93rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Gustafsson signed with the Blackhawks on April 30, 2015.
