Blackhawks sign defenceman Alec Regula to three-year deal

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenceman Alec Regula to a three-year deal worth $2.69 million.

Regula, currently with the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights, was acquired from the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 28 in exchange for forward Brendan Perlini.

He was drafted 67th overall by the Red Wings in the 2018 NHL Draft.

The right-handed defenceman has 25 goals and 79 points in 147 games in the OHL and was named to the OHL’s First All-Rookie Team in 2018.
