Blackhawks sign forward Jacob Nilsson to a one-year contract

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed free agent forward Jacob Nilsson to a one-year contract for the 2018-19 season.

The 24-year-old Swedish forward scored eight goals and added 10 assists over 40 games with the Mora IK of the SHL during the 2017-18 season. During his previous two years (2015-17) with Mora IK, Nilsson had 61 points (29G, 32A) in only 93 regular season games.

During the 2016-17 season, the five-foot-10, 168-pound Swede registered a career high 20 goals and 22 assists over 46 games in the year prior in a lower league.
