Blue Jackets place Josh Anderson on IR, activate Zach Werenski

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed winger Josh Anderson on injured reserve with a shoulder injury suffered on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.

Anderson was injured in a fight with the Senators’ Mark Borowiecki and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks. Anderson picked the fight with Borowiecki after the Senators defenceman threw a big hit on the Blue Jackets’ Sonny Milano.

Anderson has four points and 17 penalty minutes in 26 games this season.

In other Blue Jackets news, the club activated defenceman Zach Werenski off injury reserved on Tuesday morning.

Werenski had been out since Nov. 30 with a shoulder injury. He leads had 16 points in 26 games prior to the injury and leads all defencemen on the team with six goals.

The Blue Jackets visit the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
