Blues activate Brian Elliott off injured reserve

Tomas Hertl scored twice, followed by Logan Couture scoring twice, followed by Joe Thornton’s two goals to get the Sharks a 6-3 win over the Blues.

Goaltender Brian Elliott was activated off injured reserved Friday by the St. Louis Blues.

Elliott suffered a lower-body injury in a game against the San Jose Sharks on Feb. 22.

Elliott, 30, has a 2.14 goals-against average and .929 save percentage to go along with a 17-7-6 record.

The move means that the Blues (41-22-9) have a log jam in their crease.

St. Louis had acquired Anders Nilsson from the Edmonton Oilers on Feb. 27.

Jake Allen has started the majority of the Blues games in Elliott’s absence.
