The St. Louis Blues have placed forward Jaden Schwartz on injured reserve with a right ankle injury. The Blues will re-evaluate him in six weeks.

Schwartz suffered the injury during the Blues’ 6-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings Saturday.

The 25-year-old is currently tied for ninth in the NHL with 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) and ranks second with a +23 rating through 30 games this season. The Wilcox, Sask., native is in his seventh season with the Blues after being drafted 14th overall in 2010.

St. Louis recalled forward Ivan Barbashev from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves to fill the roster spot.
