Blues’ Robert Bortuzzo fined for cross-checking Islanders’ Nelson

St. Louis Blues' Robert Bortuzzo took issue with a collision that involved a teammate and New York Islanders' Brock Nelson so he decided to give Nelson a few extra cross-checks while he was down on the ice.

St. Louis Blues defenceman Robert Bortuzzo has been fined $3,091.40 for a cross-check delivered to New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson on Monday.

The amount is the maximum allowed by the CBA.

Officials gave Bortuzzo a double-minor for cross-checking for his actions, though the Blues failed to convert on the man advantage.

St. Louis would go on to win the game in a shootout.
