The St. Louis Blues have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with RFA defenceman Joel Edmundson, avoiding arbitration.

The team announced the contract, worth $3 million for 2018-19, on Tuesday.

Edmundson, 25, was among the Blues’ top-four rearguards. He averaged more than 20 minutes a game in 2017-18 while seeing plenty of time on the penalty kill. The 6-foot-4 defenceman registered a career-high seven goals and 10 assists in 69 games last season, and was forced to sit out a month-long stretch due to a broken arm.

Edmundson’s arbitration hearing was scheduled for Wednesday. He was the Blues’ final RFA to file for arbitration, as teammates Dmitrij Jaskin and Oskar Sundqvist each inked pre-arbitration settlements.
