The Boston Bruins have acquired forward Brett Connolly from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a 2015 and 2016 second-round pick.
In 49 games played with the Lightning this season, Connolly has 12 goals and three assists for 15 points.
Connolly comes with an $850,000 cap hit and is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the year, according to Sportrac.
The 22-year-old was the Lightning’s first-round pick (sixth overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
This deal was one of two that the Lightning made in the wee hours of the NHL’s trade deadline day. The other deal saw Tampa Bay acquire Braydon Coburn from the Philadelphia Flyers.
