The Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins were the two teams selected to star in the NHL’s Winter Classic this upcoming season and the Original Six franchises will honour teams of the 1920s and 1930s with the logos they’ll wear.
Both teams unveiled their retro look on Friday.
The Blackhawks will wear the black-and-white logo the team used when it first entered the NHL in 1926 as the “Black Hawks.”
Meanwhile, the Bruins are going with the “B” design the team donned from 1934 to 1950.
The Bruins have competed in the Winter Classic twice and the Blackhawks thrice, but they’ve never played one another in the annual New Year’s Day outdoor game.
This year’s game is scheduled to take place at Notre Dame Stadium in Notre Dame, Ind., with Chicago serving as the home team.
