Bruins’ David Krejci day-to-day after leaving Game 1 vs. Blue Jackets

Charlie Coyle tapped in the overtime winner, his second of the game, to get the Bruins a 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets in Game 1 of the second round.

Boston Bruins centre David Krejci is day-to-day after leaving Thursday’s Game 1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets with an injury.

According to head coach Bruce Cassidy, Krejci was hurt after a hit from the Blue Jackets’ Riely Nash. His final shift ended with just over two minutes to play in the third period and he didn’t come out of the locker room for overtime.

While Cassidy wouldn’t get into specifics about the injury, he told reporters that it wasn’t a concussion.

“He left the game and by the time he was available to come back, the game was over,” Cassidy said. “We’ll see how he is in the morning.”

Krejci, 32, is coming off a 73 point season that tied his career-high. He had two goals and five points against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Round 1 but was held off the scoresheet Thursday against the Blue Jackets.
