Byfuglien game-time decision for Jets, Melchiori recalled

Jets Mark Scheifele talks about their third period comeback, playing together as a team and finishing the season strong after beating the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Saturday.

Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien is a game-time decision for Monday night’s game against the Vancouver Canucks.

Winnipeg recalled defenceman Julian Melchiori on an emergency basis in case Byfuglien isn’t able to play.

Melchiori, 24, has yet to play in the NHL this season for the Jets. The Toronto native has two goals, four assists and a minus-20 rating in 59 games this year for the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.

Melchiori played one game for Winnipeg during the 2013-14 season.

The Canucks are eight points behind the Minnesota Wild for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference while the Jets are 13 points back.
