Canadiens agree to one-year deal with forward Nick Cousins

Watch as Nick Cousins pulls one back for the Arizona Coyotes. In an odd play, Cousins loses one of his gloves but continues on with the play. Turned out to be a good decision.

The Montreal Canadiens have agreed on a one-year, $1-million deal with forward Nick Cousins, the team announced Friday.

Cousins played 81 games with the Arizona Coyotes last season, finishing the year with seven goals and a career-high 27 points.

The 26-year-old, Belleville, Ont., native was originally a third-round selection (68th overall) with the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2011 NHL Draft. He became a free agent following two years in Arizona and five in the NHL overall before agreeing on the one-way contract with Montreal.
