The Montreal Canadiens have announced the 28-man roster that will participate in the team’s annual rookie camp.

The roster features some of the team’s top prospects, including centres Nick Suzuki and Ryan Poehling, as well as goaltender Cayden Primeau. Notably absent from the roster is 2019 first-round pick Cole Caufield. The winger is expected to play for the University of Wisconsin in the upcoming season.

In all, 18 forwards, eight defencemen and two goaltenders will participate.

The camp will be split into two parts. In the first session, the players will travel to Belleville, Ont., to play in a tournament with prospects from the Ottawa Senators and Winnipeg Jets on Sept. 7 and 8. After that, the Canadiens players will return to Quebec to play an exhibition game against a team of U Sports all-stars from Concordia, Trois-Rivières and McGill universities on Sept. 10.
