The slumping Montreal Canadiens will receive a big boost to their lineup on Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres.
Goaltender Carey Price, who hasn’t played since Nov. 2 after suffering a lower-body injury, will make his return to the crease. Charlie Lindgren, who has filled in admirably in Price’s absence, was sent down to AHL Laval.
Montreal has lost its last five games, and hasn’t won since beating the Sabres in overtime on Nov. 11.
Price has struggled this season, having gone 3-7-1 with a 3.77 goals-against average and .877 save rate in 11 starts in what has been a miserable opening two months for the Canadiens.
Their record (8-12-3) has them sitting sixth in the Atlantic Division, five points ahead of the last-place Sabres.
