Canadiens sign defenceman Joel Hanley to one-year deal

The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenceman Joel Hanley to a one-year, two-way deal, the team announced Wednesday morning.

Hanley, 25, joined the Canadiens via free agency on July 1, 2015. He registered six assists in 10 games since making his NHL debut on March 20. He also played 64 games with AHL affiliate St. John’s IceCaps, earning five goals and eight assists.
