MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens have signed their first-round draft pick.
The team agreed to a three-year entry-level contract with forward Michael McCarron on Thursday. Montreal selected McCarron with the 25th-overall pick at the 2013 NHL draft.
The 18-year-old had 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 55 games with the USHL’s U.S. national development team in 2012-13.
The six-foot-five, 237-pound right native of Grosse Pointe, Mich., added five points (three goals, two assists) in seven games with the United States at the 2013 IIHF under-18 world championship.
